To all my readers (all 3 of you),
I have not posted in a little while and I apologize to you all. My schedule right now is all over the place and I will be doing some travelling over the next couple of weeks and will not have internet during certain times. I will be heading to the Philippines this weekend for a quick weekend trip. I will update you all on that trip after that has happened. Also, one of the greatest events of the year, the NFL Draft is coming on in a couple of weeks. I don't have time to do any posts before the draft, but I will make sure to give you all my two cents on the draft either right before or right after.
Anyway, come back closer to the end of April and maybe I will have something posted for you. I will try to get back into the groove of things in late April and May.

My prediction and some memories
Even though the baseball season has begun, I still have to make it a priority to give my prediction for the Orioles this season. If you can remember all the way back to last year, I predicted they would land somewhere around .500, but in fact they came no where close. This year I am going to try to be more realistic (note that this prediction was made over email prior to the first two games of this season), my prediction for my boys for this season is 59-103. That's right, I think this is even slightly inflated for them this season, but I am optimistic.
So this season will be another flop, but they are still my team and as such I have to rely on my memories of when things were better. I remember my first opening day in 1988, my dad picked me up early from elementary school and we went to have a great day at Memorial Stadium. The O's lost, but it was still a great day of exciting baseball...oh wait...how could this be the "better days," the O's lost their first 21 games that season. Well, I also remember going to opening day in 2003...wait...there was some periods of heavy snow that came to a peak when one of the Cleveland Indians hit a pop fly to right field and it was snowing so heavy that the right fielder (Jay Gibbons?) couldn't even see the ball. Oh well, so my good memories were of the O's losing, oh well, they are 1-1 as I write this entry, so at least they won't beat their 0-21 season start.
Go O's!!

If you think there is nothing wrong with this picture then….
You are probably a racist. This is a famous brand of toothpaste here in China (and in Asia as I soon found out) with an English name of Darlie. The last time I saw an old timey depiction of a black man in a top hat was in those movies from the 30's and 40's where black people entertained white people in tuxedos and top hats and were basically portrayed as being these side shows for the wealthy white people of America. I mean, even with the big smile, how does an African in a tuxedo and a top hat encourage the Chinese to buy this brand of toothpaste….and what kind of racist toothpaste name is Darlie?
On my way home
The other day I was on my way home and there were two things that happened that was not usual with my normal commute. First, when I was stuffed into the subway, a fight broke out. This was the first fight that I have seen here in China that has come to fisticuffs. The guys went at it for a couple of swings before they got tangled up in the hundreds of people that were stuffed into the subway (it was during rush hour so they didn't have much room to swing at each other). They were escorted off of subway at the next stop prior to anything big breaking out.
So I thought that seeing my first fight on a subway would be weird enough when all of the sudden as I was about 1 block away from my house, I saw this girl doing some "interesting" dance moves. I thought she was just showing off, but she kept doing different dance moves. My next thought was that she was listening to some kicking music that got her dance grooves going. Turns out that she was not listening to any music, rather, it must have been the cool music in her head that was making her bust a move…and when I say bust a move, I mean I don't think she knew how little rhythm she had.
Oh well, just another day in China.
